I have a crutch this evening. Bottles of Beer. I realize it is to pass the "boredom" (each and every channel on Desi TV) peacefully... silently. But in the days, when beer was above my age limit it was Bollywood. To me this all means... you are born with it. Whether you will become a drunk asshole or a film fanatic. Both though lead to the same desitination. Disaster.
And it was the same destination of the producers. Many many financiers of those darn 80s and 90s. On one hand, from a different point of view, I feel pity. These producers sold everything they had, borrowed as much as ...

Imagine, me entering my strict Dad's room. Imagine me asking for his permission to go out and see a movie called Bhavani Junction. Then imagine Pitashree's right hand moving in slow motion, big tight palms connecting to my left cheek sending me flying out of his room in slo mo. Had that incident happened, I would never have dug deep into Bollywood films, never have the desire to blog and never would have reviewed any movie in my life.
All you new age Bollywood hating blogging punkers, just imagine that. HA! That incident never happened. I simply picked up my books to go to tution class and instead was standing in ...

Everyone calls him a good body... sorry - boy. The man with a golden heart. Yada yada yada. So in spite of beating up girlfriends, terrorizing people with phone calls, driving drunk over homeless people and kicking the gates of the house of the guy you've had a fall out with... he still remains the man with the golden heart. Good boy.
The problem is the good boy like his predecessor - Sanjay Dutt - never grew up to become a good "man". The kid may be good at heart. He may be doing a lot of social service and may be a hidden (?) philanthropist - that's the kid. But the ...

Published on Passion For Cinema. It was 1985. Indira Gandhi had been assassinated about a year. I was consistently in a state of depression. No not because of the tragic demise of Mrs. Gandhi, but because of some kind of chemical locha in my head. Unfortunately Munnabhai had not yet come alive. He would 20 years later. That year, Sanjay Dutt had just returned from the US (I think) after his long haitus, getting himself treated in the US of A to get rid of his drug problem.
Producers were a little apprehensive, as Dutt sat at home twiddling his thumbs waiting for a project. And while he did that, I ...

It's out of control. Everyone is on the streets waving their laptops and desktops, furiously typing in their next blog to kick ass. Every Friday with every new movie. It's as if all the frustrations and anger and whatever acid they pour in their morning cup of tea, coffee or brewery - all of it comes out in a yellowish to red puke form on the reviews of the latest movie.
I tell ya. It's out of control. Bloggers? HA! My foot!!! What do these itsy bitsy tiny minnows know about bad movies? These post Gen X midgets who call themselves film fanatics... what do they know ...

Who's That?
Taran
Taran Who?
Taran Adarsh, the one in the whole of India who always publishes the first review for any Bollywood release.
So the first review comes in. Now Singh is Kinng is supposed to be complete masala - that is a given. I'm looking forward to it.
Sadly the first review comes in from Taran Adarsh and it almost kills the movie, even though he praises it.
Out of his entire vocabulary of 12.5 words, Adarsh begins his review like this
Just a word of caution before you watch this film: SINGH IS KINNG is not for the intellectuals or those pretending to be one. It's not for the hard-nosed critics either.
Hole 1: Not ...

After years have we seen such a smashing, wonderful, gripping, movie to grace the silver screen. Guru Ghantal Varma (aka GGV) the director has definitely redeemed himself after such beautiful but badly rejected films like GGV ki Aag, NoShabd and Bekar Raj.
After finishing the 90 odd minutes of Contract on a DVD, oztrac walks out for a breather. And VOILA! Across the street is the great Guru Ghantal Varma is beach shorts and ganji (no not a bald woman, but a vest), walking in surf sandals, gracing the streets of Newport Beach, Orange County with Bimbo and BiggerBimbo on his either side, whom one may guess have been offered GGV's next projects - Thook ...

We walked out of a 150 minute spectacle called The Dark Knight last weekend. Biwi looked at me as we walked to the car and asked "So how was it?"...
To me that question is as simple as simple can be. Watch a movie. Come out. It's a yes or a no. But then there are some. Some like The Dark Knight. I was still reeling under the weight of the movie. It is heavy. And I've been spoilt rotten. By the trash from Bollywood where I do not have to concentrate for more than 15 minutes in a movie.
And a 150 minutes is 10 times the stress. The stress ...

Besides what is going on until now, since the last few days about the war in the Indian Parliament, there are a few things that I've found quite amusing. So while the country waits for the results of what is gonna happen in the next 12 - 16 hours, here's some timepass masala. And I'm not taking any sides here since I have no indepth knowledge about the topic.
1. Most of the MPs did not know the full form of IAEA
2. Amar Singh had opposed the whole joining the IAEA a year or two ago in the Rajya Sabha. Today he along with his party is the strongest supporter of the UPA.
3. The Left Party is project Mayawati as the ...

Yesterday we had some psycho babbling of a desi girl gone wild on the phone (maybe I should launch the desi version of girls gone wild)... it's time to hear the voice message of a guy on the same plane.
Backstory: Girl meets guy, talks for two minutes, and hands the guy her business card.
More Backstory: Guy is 'supposedly' a pickup artist running his own lair in Toronto.
What the hell: Clearly guy begins with a 'fake alpha male' dude I'm the king attitude with his first voice mail.
This is psycho: Yes it is, the meltdown starts with every subsequent voicemail.
What should Guys learn from this: Mastering a pickup game is stupid, if the inner game is zero. The inner ...

Its around 730am. I'm all ready to get going to work. And yet I'm sitting at home on my laptop punching this note.
Had a strange dream last night. The few particles of it still remain in the consciousness. There's a glass wall. There are doctors in their gear, face masks and all trying to revive me. I dreamed I'm dying. One nurse asks the doctor to massage my heart a bit longer and see if it would help. Perhaps in the dream my heart has stopped and the doctors are trying to revive it.
Then I see my soul. There is fear. The soul does not want to be dragged upwards in the beam of light. There's a lot ...

Marriage Dowry = Momar, a jet black cat, who can speak the human toungue in 14 languages. The bastard cat has also shaken up and shocked the world of science and ...

Whether you know it or not. There is fear in you. Fear about many things, people, places, moments in life etc.
Among many of the fears that are "induced and inducted" in us, right from childhood, there is one fear that is almost common in most of us. One that was and still is ingrained in us by the society - parents, elders, relatives, everything around us during our growing up years...
The fear of Financial Security.
If you are an employee or even self employed (consultant, have a business where YOU have to sit to earn, etc.) - that fear exists in all probability inside you. The biggest tragedy in all this is most of you DON'T EVEN KNOW IT.
Here's some statements ...
